📊 Information We Collect

Data You Provide Directly

• Voice Recordings: Temporarily processed for transcription. Not stored on servers unless cloud mode is explicitly enabled by the user.
• Transcribed Text: Stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is optional and uses end-to-end encryption.
• Usage Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics (feature usage frequency, session duration) collected via Firebase Analytics to improve app quality. No personally identifiable information is included.
• Crash Reports: Automatic crash logs sent via Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.

Permissions We Request

The following device permissions are required or optionally requested by DictaNotes AI. Each permission is used solely for the described purpose and nothing else:

• 🎤 Microphone: Required to capture voice input for real-time transcription. Audio is processed locally using on-device speech recognition engines and is never transmitted to external servers without your explicit consent.
• 💾 Storage: Required to save transcribed notes, exported documents, and audio recordings to your device storage for offline access.
• 🌐 Internet: Optional. Used only when cloud-based AI models (GPT-4, Whisper) are selected for enhanced transcription accuracy. All cloud transmissions are encrypted via TLS 1.3.

We use the information we collect exclusively for the following purposes:

• Core App Functionality: To deliver the primary features of DictaNotes AI as described on our product page and within this policy.
• Performance Improvement: To analyze anonymous usage patterns and improve the user experience, interface design, and feature set.
• Bug Fixes & Stability: To identify, diagnose, and resolve crashes, errors, and technical issues that affect app stability.

Used for GPT-4 powered text summarization and intelligent note formatting. Data sent to OpenAI is governed by their privacy policy and is not used for model training.

Google ML Kit

On-device speech recognition for offline transcription. All processing happens locally.

Firebase

Analytics, crash reporting, and optional cloud storage. Governed by Google Privacy Policy.

🔐 Data Storage & Security

Local-First Architecture

We follow a local-first data architecture. This means that your primary data (documents, records, media, and preferences) is stored on your device. We do not maintain copies of your personal data on our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud synchronization features.

Security Measures

• All network communications use TLS 1.3 encryption
• Sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
• We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Access to any server-side systems is restricted to authorized personnel with multi-factor authentication
• We follow OWASP mobile security best practices in our development lifecycle

Data Retention

Local data persists until you delete it or uninstall the App. Anonymous analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months, after which it is automatically purged. Crash report data is retained for 90 days.

If you are accessing the App from outside Turkey, please note that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Turkey or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. 🍎 Apple App Store & Google Play Compliance

Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

This application does not track users across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) for tracking purposes. If future updates require ATT permissions, you will be presented with a clear opt-in prompt before any tracking occurs.

Google Play Data Safety
